Like all great lettering, it’s unobtrusive and supportive except when it needs to be flashy, like some bombastic sound effects in the story’s action scenes. There’s only one sequence, late in the proceedings, that doesn’t really work, though I get what they were going for: Terry ascends a staircase, and rather than the action starting at the top left of the page, it begins at the bottom left and follows him upward. James W. Gordon is one such character that’s both friend and a father-like figure to Bruce Wayne a.k.a Batman. Once your kids make a choice, read the description of what is included in the price. In fact, there are some story decisions that make it one of the worst Batman Beyond stories I’ve ever read. The triumphant return of the charismatic Billy Dee Williams is one of them. I think we’re gonna have to give it to this one by default. Batman has the power suit you get super strength and shoot missles ,the stealth suit you turn invisable and e x ray vision , the electric suit you can pass through electricity and absorb it , the senser suit you can brake glass with a noise gun and have bat wings for gliding, those are all the suits! Really, I wish I could have started this review on a more positive note, but that’s not the case, so let’s just get into it. It also doesn’t help that, like most of the rest of the Urban Legends stories thus far, this is just a prelude to a story that will come next year. Most kids like to dress up as super heroes on Halloween day and thus the Spiderman and Batman costumes are quite predominant on the streets during this day. Costumes, capes, and collar and lead combinations are available for your convenience. Max Dunbar and Sebastian Cheng’s linework and coloring, respectively, are top-notch as well. I love Cheng’s use of light and shadow, in particular, with the eerie glow of computer screens illuminating Batman’s cowl with an artificial light. Ever. Save for that weird “Clown at Midnight” issue that (mercifully) comes early on, I love pretty much every weird, wacky, wonderful panel of that Batman stuff. That device on Valley’s left wrist shoots out bat-shaped razors since he doesn’t care too much about maiming the bad guys.
It isn’t that much of a secret, but if you didn’t know, Grant Morrison’s entire run on Batman is some of my favorite comics. The saving grace is that everything that isn’t the actual story is pretty good. A good story could have been wrung from this, no doubt, but it was not this story. Personally, I’m thinking that Raziel from The Legacy of Kain would be a good start — a ghoulish creature, his face half shrouded in a dark, tattered cloak. It shows Robert Pattinson’s Batman stepping out from the shadows into a dark, red-lit frame, to the accompaniment of an eerie score by composer Michael Giacchino. The costume in question appears to be the Batman suit worn by Michael Keaton – who has been confirmed to be reprising his role in the film – with a red and yellow Flash emblem painted on top of it. It’s certainly a fun idea, but TT Games says the correct suit will always be waiting for players. Regardless of what did or didn’t happen to the suit on the set of The Flash, the important news is that one of the most popular Batsuits in history is returning to the screen.
